Smitten Ice Cream - Century City
The Westfield Century City mall’s renovations are (almost) complete. And with the brand new design comes new delicious spots to check out. Make sure you add Smitten Ice Cream to the top of your list. Located near the mall's Santa Monica Blvd entrance, Smitten serves up fresh scoops of your favorite flavors daily.
Smitten's menu only ever contains five or six ice cream flavors at a time, but they’ve really got the essentials covered. And each scoop is made to order. When you decide which flavor you'd like, just order with one of their Brrristas® and watch as they pour a fresh ice cream base into the Brrr®, their signature liquid nitrogen ice cream machine. A minute later, your ice cream will be ready to eat.
My favorite flavor at Smitten is Cookie Dough with Pretzels and Chocolate Chips. It truly combines my favorite salty and sweet treats into a blend of perfection. I made such a mess of myself eating this, I should have felt ashamed. But I was in such heaven, I could not have cared less.
For a few dollars more, you can turn your scoop of ice cream into a full blown Cookie Dough Sundae served in a waffle cone bowl and topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and extra bites of cookie dough. Smitten makes their waffle cones and bowls fresh in house, just like the ice cream.
Smitten also has one limited time monthly flavor—January’s was Meyer Lemon. Add some Strawberry Suce to the top and you are in for a summery treat even if it's the middle of winter. I was super impressed by how creamy and flavorful Smitten’s scoops were. Their ice cream isn't aggressively sweet, so you won’t call it quits after three bites.
Are you more of a basic ice cream eater? Smitten has you covered with Classic Vanilla and TCHO 60.5% Chocolate. With an assortment of toppings, you won't be bored. Add some caramel sauce, almonds, or sprinkles on top if you are feeling fancy.
The Century City Smitten Ice Cream kiosk – which is gorgeous by the way—has plenty of seating right near by. So you won’t need to trek all over the mall to find food court seating. I loved everything I tasted at Smitten. I would definitely recommend making time for a scoop next time you catch a movie at the mall. I know I will.
