Wahlburgers X The Impossible Burger -- West Hollywood

As a meat lover who is also conscious about what food I put in my body, I could not be more thrilled to have finally tried The Impossible Burger at Wahlburgers in West Hollywood

What is the Impossible Burger? Well, it is a 100% plant based burger made for meat-lovers. How crazy is that? While it doesn’t taste exactly like meat, it is pretty darn close. It contains primarily wheat and potato proteins, coconut oil, and heme—a molecule found in all living things that gives meat that meaty flavor.

Not only is the burger healthier than a meat-based burger, but it is also far more environmentally friendly. It uses 95% less land and 74% less water to create, plus it emits 87% less greenhouse gasses. And it’s cholesterol-free, with no hormones or antibiotics.

But most importantly, the Impossible Burger tastes delicious. Every restaurant it is served in does it a bit differently. I had the delightful experience of tasting the Wahlburgers’ Impossible Burger, which is made with smoked cheddar, lettuce, caramelized onions, house-made chili spiced tomatoes, and Paul Wahlburger’s signature wahl sauce.

If you just aren’t in the mood for the Impossible Burger, Wahlburgers has you covered with a huge menu of delicious burgers, sandwiches, sides, and classic American bites. For instance, Mark Wahlburg’s favorite burger on the menu is Thanksgiving Turkey Burger topped with stuffing, mayo, house-made orange-cranberry sauce, and roasted butternut squash.

Another newer menu highlight is the Smoked Bacon Mac ‘N Cheese. Made with mini penne, smoked bacon, American, cheddar and smoked mozzarella all topped with house-made garlic Parmesan panko breadcrumbs. It was so good; I honestly had to exhibit restraint not to eat an entire bowl in one sitting.

Definitely get some tater tots while dining at Wahlburgers if for no other reason than to sample all the delicious sauces. I tried 15, and I had a hard time keeping track of which I liked best, but the wahl sauce was definitely a favorite.

If you have room in your stomach for dessert, Wahlburgers also serves delicious homemade frappes and floats. AND they have a Grilled Fluffanutta (sliced banana, peanut butter, fluff, and nutella) so obviously I am coming back for that!

Here are my final thoughts, if you order the Impossible Burger, which is basically eating plants, you have that much more room to indulge in all the other calorie laden treats Wahlburgers has to offer. It’s a win win!
